Thimphu, Punakha, Phobjikha, Trongsa, Zhemgang & Paro

Day 1 Paro – Thimphu 

Flying to Bhutan is breathtaking; a flight over the beautiful Himalayan Mountains. Upon your arrival, our representatives settle in a comfortable car and check-in at the hotel. Then, rest for a while, and drive to the bank of Paro Chhu to get sight of Ibisbill, explore the beautiful town of Paro before you leave for the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2 Paro – Thimphu 

Early morning, drive to Chele la pass (3810m), famous habitat for three different species of Pheasant. You also might get sight of other birds like Rose Finches, Grosbeak, and Laughing Thrushes. Then, descend back to Paro for lunch and enjoy the scenic road to the capital city of Thimphu. Explore Thimphu city in the evening side. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3 Explore Thimphu 

Unfold your day driving to Dodena, North part of Thimphu, where you might get sight of laughing Thrust, Brown Dipper, Fire capped Tit, jjRufous-Bellied Woodpeckers, white-throated laughing thrushes, and chest- crowned Thrushes. Descend back to Thimphu city for lunch. Rest a while and enjoy the nearby sightseeing in Thimphu. Overnight at the hotel. 

Day 4 Thimphu – Punakha 

Start your day driving to Dochula pass (3150m). The road passes through the rhododendron forest, oak, and fir where many bird species, including Satyr Tragopan, Rufous- Breasted Bush Robins, Black-eared Shrike Babbles, Yellow-billed Myzornis, can be spotted in these areas. Then, descend to Punakha and enjoy your lunch and explore majestic Punakha Dzong and the Suspension Bridge. Overnight at the Hotel.

Day 5 Explore Punakha Valley

Open your day visiting Jigme Dorji National Park to spot beautiful birds; you might sight Chestnut-headed Teslas, Red-headed Trogons, Black-Chinned Yuhinas, Wren Babblers, Woodpeckers, Laughing Thrushes, white- Bellied Herons, and other species as well. Then, dive back and enjoy the evening at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 6 Punakha – Phobjikha  

Start your drive to beautiful Phobjikha valley, home to rhododendron and dwarf bamboo. Spend your time on the way with our representatives for possible sights of Ward’s Trogon and Yellow-rumped Honeyguides. Reaching the valley, you might get views of endangered Black Necked Cranes, migrate from Tibet. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 7 Phobjikha – Trongsa 

Continue your drive to Trongsa, enjoy the valley view and forested area. 

Make a stopover at Pele la pass, continue your birding with our representatives along the abandoned road. Reaching Trongsa, explore the town and the massive Dzong. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 8 Trongsa – Zhemgang 

Unfold your day doing birding along the Trongsa to Zhemgang will be an exciting journey with possible sights of Rusty- Cheeked Scimitar Babblers, Grey- Bellied Teslas, Steak – breathed Scimitar Babblers, White-browed Scimitar Babblers, Rufous Woodpeckers, Long Shrikes, Crested Bunting, and Common Kestrels. Rest in the evening side, overnight at the hotel.

Day 9 Zhemgang to Tingtibi Road 

Exciting day immersing yourself in the warm broad-leaved forests, enjoy the sights of Rufous-necked and great hornbills. You will also get the views of cool laughing Thrushes, Cuties, Pin-tailed green pigeons, woodpeckers, Grey-bellied Tesia, Etc. Overnight at the camp.

Day 10 Zhemgang to Trongsa 

Today you will drive back to Trongsa valley, continuing another round of birding on the way back to Trongsa, spend your time at Museum and enjoy exploring the town in the evening side. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 11 Trongsa – Thimphu 

Continue your journey back to Thimphu, enjoying the scenic road ascending and descending with vegetation change. Make a stopover at Wanguephodrang Dzong and continue your birding on your journey to Thimphu. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 12 Thimphu – Paro 

Start your early morning from Thimphu to Paro and hike to the most famous Tiger’s Nest monastery, a revered ancient cites. Experience astonishing views from the sanctuary, perched on a cliff 900m above the valley floor. Visit the National Museum of Paro and the Paro Dzong. Overnight at the hotel. 

Day 13 Departure 

Today, our representatives will escort you to the Paro international airport for your departure.
