Jambay Lhakhang Drup Festival Tour

One of the unique and interesting Jambay Lhakhang Drup Festival held in the 7th century Jambay Lhakhang in Jakar to commemorate the establishment of Jambay Lhakhang in the 7th century and also to honor Guru Rinpoche. The festival is well known for its sacred naked dance and Mewang, the fire blessing, and other mask dances. The local villagers perform the dances. The festival dances are composed by Terton Pema Lingpa, the great treasure discoverer of the 15th century, who lived in the valley. Paro, Thimphu, Punakha Gangtey, Bumthang & Paro

Day 1 Paro – Thimphu

Enjoy the spectacular view of Himalayan ranges on your flight to Bhutan and drive to the capital city of Thimphu through the beautiful landscapes following the Paro chu and Thimphu Chu. Make a stop at Tachog Lhakhang, built by legendary bridge-builder Thangtong Gyelpo. After visiting the National Memorial Chorten, the Buddha Dordenma statue giantly sits atop the hills overlooking the Thimphu valley. Visit charming Thimphu city before you leave for the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2 Explore Thimphu

Start your day visiting the Bhutanese factory, a school of arts and crafts where talented students are trained and practiced. On your way, visit the national takin preserve center, where the national animal of Bhutan is preserved, and the national library. Then, visit the oldest changangkha temple located at the hilltop. It is famous for blessing newborn babies and gives names for newborn babies. It also offers a magnificent view of Thimphu city. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3 Thimphu – Punakha

Drive to magical Punakha valley. Stopover at Dochula pass to enjoy the panoramic view of Himalayan ranges and the beautiful sights of 108 stupas. Visit the famous fertility temple located at the hilltop on your way to Punakha valley. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 4 Explore Punakha

Spend your day visiting majestic Punakha Dzong, which stands in the confluences of two rivers and the longest suspension bridge of the valley adorned with colorful prayer flags. Then, hike to Khamsum Yulley Namgyel Chorten, built by Queen mother, is a classic example of Bhutanese architect and arts. Enjoy the breathtaking view of the valley from the top. Then, retrace your walk to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 5 Punakha – Trongsa

Drive to Trongsa valley, the royal family’s ancestral home, through dense forest of oak trees and rhododendron. The drive through tropical vegetation crossing Pele La pass and a scattered series of beautiful villages will make your journey remarkable. As you see you see beautiful places on your trip, make a stopover to photograph. First, visit the National Museum, which offers gorgeous aspects of Bhutanese culture and historical objects. Then, visit one of the most impressive longest Trongsa Dzong, beautifully architect dzong standing at the hilltop. Overnight at the Hotel.

Day 6 Trongsa – Bumthang

Continue your journey driving to magnificent Bumthang valley with spectacular views and its nature blessed surroundings. First, visit Yathra weaving center, spend your best time with locals. It is famous for typical hand-woven clothes called Yathra. Then, make your afternoon visit 7th-century Jampa Lhakhang, Kujey Lhakhang, insight of body imprint of Guru Rinpoche and Tamzhing Lhakhang, a temple of a good message. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 7 Bumthang

After your breakfast, drive to Jambay Lhakhang to witness the festival. Enjoy watching different kinds of dances with local people. Thousand of people will gather to celebrate the festival with their families, relatives, and loved ones. They need to get a break from their usual work and enjoy with packed lunch with their families. Spend your time visiting local markets. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 8 Explore Bumthang

Continue enjoying your days witnessing the festival with local people. The locals will perform different kinds of mask dances and cultural dances. Explore the Bumthang town with our representatives in the evening side. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 9 Bumthang – Phobjikha valley

It reached you to the Phobjikha valley, ascending 3000- meter mountain passes and valleys with panoramic views and engaging with the local people visiting villages and discovering the unique lifestyle. Visit the important and biggest Nyingmapa monastery located at the hilltop offering a superb panoramic view of the valley. Immerse into the valley hiking through the pine forest and the breeding ground of endangered black-necked crane. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 10 Phobjikha – Paro

Retrace your journey back to iconic Paro valley crossing the Dochula Pass and Simtokha Dzong, the first dzong (a fortress built by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel. Make a stop on your journey as you get good sights to enjoy the spectacular. Spend your time at Paro town in a designed Bhutanese architect house. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 11 Explore Paro

Hike to famous Takshang monastery stands on a sheer cliff

with an elevation of 3000 m.

Discover the legendary history and meditate for a while. Then, walk back and visit the oldest Kyichu, Lhakhang. One of the 108 sites established by the Tibetan Emperor in the 7th century, Spend some time in the beautiful Paro town with our representatives. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 12 Departure

Today, our representatives will escort you to the Paro international airport for your departure.
