3 Nights 4 Days

One of the most popular treks in the country is following the ancient trading route through the gorgeous natural pine forest, over the high mountain pass connecting the valley of Paro and Thimphu. The trail offers spectacular views and experiences through beautiful Rhododendron forests, pristine lakes, and yak herder pastures. It also provides an opportunity to visit the ancient monastery, temple, and village along your journey. The trek also offers hikers a view of Mt Gangkar Puensum, the highest uncalled peak in the world, and the breathtaking view of Mt. Jhomolhari. The best time to embark on the trek is between March – June, and September -November.

Day 1 Paro – Jili Dzong – Tsokam

Walking distance: 7km (4- 5 hours walk) Camp Altitude: 3480m

Today, we drive a bit till the start point of hiking from the hotel. Then, we start trekking to Jili Dzong, a pretty small monastery perched on the hilltop overlooking Paro Valley. Spend some time at the monastery and hike to the campsite through the temperate vegetation and beautiful Rhododendron trees.

Day 2 Tsokam – Jangchulakha – Jimelangtsho

Walking distances: 10km (4-5hours walk) camp Altitude: 3770m

Begin your day with a gradual walk through the alpine forest and beautiful Rhododendron trees. As you are one step up above the tree line, you may see some exotic Himalayan flowers, shrubs, and species of Rhododendron flowers. Next, take a chance to see the fascinating view of Mt. Jhomolhari. Finally, continue your hike after your lunch at Jangchulkha, with spectacular views and yaks and yak herder on the way before you reach the campsite at Jimilangtso Lake.

Day 3 Jimilangtso Lake – Simkotra Tso- Labana

Walking distance: 10k (6-7hours walk) Camp Altitude: 3870m

As the trail takes you through the Rhododendron trees and Jenetso lake, Experiences the nomad life while you come across the yak herder camp before you take your climb up. A spectacular view of Mt. Gangkar Puensum (The highest unclimbed mountain in the world) and other peaks offered in clear weather. Campsite at Labana.

Day 4 Labana- Phojoding- Motithang – Thimphu

Walking distance: 10k (5 hours walk)

Enjoy the sunrise from Phojoding in the morning. Then, immerse yourself through blue pine and Rhododendron descending to Thimphu valley at your leisure pace. Make a stop along the way for some time to enjoy a spectacular view of Thimphu valley before switching off to the capital city of Thimphu. Overnight at the hotel.

All are more experienced, have good knowledge of the destination, are tough to fight against every misfortune, and are well trained in emergency first aids and mountain sickness.
