Jomolhari Trek

Brace yourself to experience the true beauty of snow-capped mountains, gifting you a memorable journey with an altitude of 2500m to nearly 5000m. The famous Jhomolhari Trek offers the most majestic snow peak mountains view, experiencing the different vegetation from the most forested valley to the high alpine pastureland of yak herders. The broader range of beautiful landscapes with varietal species of flora and fauna will bring you the most remarkable trek in the Kingdom of Bhutan.

Day 1 Sharna – Soe Thangthangka

Distance: 22kms, Duration: 7-8 hours, Camp altitude: 3610m

Experience the scenic 1hr drive to Sharna Bridge through the beautiful farm roads. Then, reach you to the Soe Thangthangka experiencing the trails through Jigme Dorji Wangchuk National Park. The trail routes through the beautiful forest of Rhododendron, Oak, Bamboo, and fern along the fresh flowing river. The view of Mt Jhomolhari can see on a clear day. Overnight at the campsite.

Day 2 – Soe Thangthangka – Jangothang (Base camp)

Distance: 19km Duration: 5-6hrs, Camp altitude: 4080m

Resuming your continued trek ascending uphill with stunted vegetation will offer you a beautiful view of Mt. Jhomolhari, snow-clad mountains peaks, and ridges. Make a stop to yak herder’s homes to experience the unique lifestyle of highlander before you head off to Jhomolhari Base camp. Overnight at the Basecamp.

Day 3 Jangothang Base Camp.

Today, acclimatize yourself at Jangothang and explore the beautiful Tshophu twin lake. Then, spend your time mingling with locals and view Mt. Jhomolhari. Spending your time with locals makes a lovely day discovering their simple lifestyle.

Day 4 Jangothang – Lingzhi

Distances: 18km, Duration: 6- 7hrs, Camp altitude: 4010m

Start another beautiful day walking beside the stream for half an hour. Then, make a stop and spend some time enjoying the most breathtaking view of Mt. Jhomolhari, Mt. Jichu Drake, and Mt. Tsherimgang before you take ascend uphill climb. Reaching Lingzhi after ascending and descending Nyele la pass, relax yourself to enjoy the panoramic view of mountain peaks. Overnight at the campsite.

Day 5 Lingzhi – Shodu

Distance: 22km, Duration: 8-9hrs, camp altitude: 4080m

Enjoy a beautiful morning, sighting breathtaking views of mountain peaks. Then, continue your trek enjoying Mountain View, crossing Yeli la pass, and descend following the stream enjoying the natural beauty along the way. Overnight at campsite.

Day 6 Shodu – Barshong

Distance: 16km, Duration: 6-7hrs, Camp altitude: 3710m

Continue descending through the Rhododendron and alpine forest following the Thimphu chhu is impressive. Enjoy the stunning view of the natural cliff and waterfall on your trail, reaching the top of the Barshong Dzong. Overnight at the campsites.

Day 7 Barshong – Dodena – Thimphu

Distance: 15km, Duration: 5-6hrs

Today will be your last day trekking. First, hike through the rhododendron forest, and following the Thimphu Chhu makes a great combination on your trail. Next, reach Dolam Kencho experiencing ascend climb through the pastureland and woods until you meet our representative. Then, drive to the capital city of Thimphu. Overnight at the hotel.

All are more experienced, have good knowledge of the destination, are tough to fight against every misfortune, and are well trained in emergency first aids and mountain sickness.


In every destinated campsite, Lavish food items are served with our chef’s designed food menu. Every food item is delicious, hygienic, organic, which can boost your energy. Bottle of water and boiled water are served as per your needs.
